‘The Stone Shop’ is a specialist
mineral, gemstone and stoneware
gift shop . This year the
shop will celebrate their tenth
anniversary of
trading in the
seaside town.
The day of celebration is 16 June 2006 where customers will be offered
wine and nibbles plus a ten per cent
discount on all purchases made between 12-18 June. The discount will also apply on orders placed online.
The
enterprise was started by mother and daughter Patricia and Carol Williamson. Patricia first started trading in
Leeds where her fascination with geology and
fossils grew. Carol joined Patricia when the shop relocated to Bridlington on the
East Yorkshire coast.
Patricia’s favourite pastime is going to rock and gem
fairs where new stock is purchased for the shop, whereas Carol concentrates on the
jewellery side of things.
The shop sells a mixture of minerals, fossils, gemstone jewellery, amber and jet in their shop. The shop specialises in amber jewellery and has an array of amber set in
gold and
silver . The Stone Shop also has a wide range of semi precious stone jewellery which includes
designer hand made jewellery.
The shop has to be visited to appreciate just how much variety there is in one shop.
