Jewellery by Swiss jeweller Chopard is adored by celebrities the world over and is often seen as high profile events such as film premieres.
They are also responsible for the creation of the golden palms that are awarded at the Cannes Film Festival.
Edinburgh is honoured to have pieces created by the jeweller go on display at Laing the Jeweller on Frederick Street in June. The display will include a Palme dOr and items worn by Hollywood stars at previous Cannes festivals.
Eva Herzigova, supermodel, is the face of the Chopard. However they have created pieces for stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Sharon Stone .
Last years festival saw Oscar winner Hilary Swank wearing a Chopard necklace featuring three diamonds in a row, with a matching bracelet and diamond ring. Other stars who wear this exclusive jewellery are Jessica Alba and Penelope Cruz.
Out of all the awards in the film industry the Palme dOr is the most coveted as only one is awarded each year.
The Cannes Film Festival started last week and will run until 28 May 2006. Set in the South of France many hundreds of stars will receive the red carpet treatment at film premiers.
This festival is a favourite in a designers calendar where they get the opportunity to show off their latest creations. This applies equally to fashion designers, jewellers, hair, make-up and accessories. The concentration of press will ensure that their creations are seen around the world.
Celine Roques, spokeswoman for Chopard said, "The Academy Awards are just one night - the Cannes Film Festival is 12 nights. During that time, we can do up to 80 loans to celebrities.
"It's a lot of work but it's worth it. Cannes is the perfect showcase for our designs - only the Olympics attract more worldwide media ."
The items to go on display will have been seen at past festival as worn by stars and not only will they be on display they will also be available to buy. The exhibition will see cut outs of the celebrities who have previous worn the items to recreate Cannes glamour.
Laing owner Michael Laing said the exhibition was going to be held at his store as he is the only jeweller to sell Chopard jewellery in Edinburgh.
Mr Laing said, "This will be the first exhibition of Chopard ever seen in Scotland and possibly even the UK . Nowhere else has there ever been such a large collection of Chopard so this will be a great opportunity to see how different the designs are."
The Palme dOr is made of 24 carat gold and is attached to a cushion of a single piece of cut crystal.
The company was established in 1860 and has become one of the most exclusive jewellers in the world. Under its current leader the company now makes casual pieces also.
Mr Laing said, "The stars really like wearing Chopard as they know it is custom-made, stylish and very different.
"But many of the pieces can be worn casually and you often see it worn by celebrities off camera ."
The price list for Choard jewellery and watches start from £700, to priceless. However the items on sale at Laings will range from £1,000 to £3,000.
