Links of London, the jewellery company founded and owned by a husband and wife team is expected to sell for £50 million when it was put up for sale .
Owners John Ayton and Annoushka Ducas made their decision to sell after many interested groups approached them with offers to buy .
UBS Wealth Management was advising the couple on how to handle the sale. Potential buyers were sent a memo by way of generating further interest .
The couple have not publicly stated how much they want for the business but others estimate it to be as £50 million.
Baugur, the Icelandic group is interested in the House of Fraser chain, but are also interested in Links following their £21 million acquisition of Mappin and Webb.
Ms Ducas mother commissioned her to design some silver cufflinks to be given to her loyal restaurant clients, and that led to Links being set up. This was back in 1990.
The chain comprises of 45 stores in the UK, Hong Kong, Dubai, the US and Canada .
