How to remember your wedding anniversary

Fri, 29 Sep 2006

How many of you are guilty of forgetting the most important day of the year – your wedding anniversary ?

You can put those frosty silences behind you now that makers have developed a ring that heats up when it’s that time of year.

The, Remember Ring, will save countless arguments as forgetting an anniversary will become a thing of the past.

The person wearing the ring will get a warm sensation on their finger a day before the anniversary, as it will be programmed with the date you wish to be reminded of. The date can also be engraved inside the ring.

The ring is charged by the wearer’s body heat. A heat warning is then created by a small thermo device which will discharge in ten second bursts, each burst getting slightly warmer up to a max of 120F.

The reminder will be given every hour on the hour, 24 hours before the big day.

Marriage guidance organisation Relate, think the ring is a great idea.

Mo Kurimbokus, Relate counsellor said, "If he hasn’t remembered, women sometimes ask themselves ‘Is the relationship important enough to him?"

The Remember Ring will be launched next year in gold and silver and is styled as a wedding ring or signet ring and will retail at £400.

Cleve Oines, inventor of the ring from American-based Goldsmith Gallery said, "The idea is to remind people that they started wearing jewellery for a very important reason."
