A gold jewellery company, which is based in North Wales, has stepped up its bid to enter new markets in the USA and Asia in 2010 after becoming a leading brand at home.
Bodelwyddan-based Clogau Gold has grown rapidly over the past three years and it now has over 500 stockists in the UK. Ben Roberts, who scooped the Bangor University Business Person of the Year Award at the Daily Post’s Achievement Wales 2009 Business Awards, spoke of his vision for the company to break into new markets outside Britain.
Mr Roberts said: "The USA is our first port of call next year and we want to develop the brand there. We are already making inroads into the American market and we are also talking to a couple of distributors. Asia is another market we are interested in getting into and we will be starting probably with Beijing and Shanghai ."
