The Italian fashion brand Gianfranco Ferre, one of Milan's top designer names, is to create a jewellery line as part of a deal with jeweller Damiani .
The companies have announced that Ferre creative directors Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi will head the line in gold and silver, with diamonds and other gemstones . Although the collection will be aimed mostly at women, it will also have some pieces for men.
The items will feature four main themes which have been inspired by the late founding designer's style and especially the 'Signature Pin', which is a safety pin that Ferre carried. Ferre was renowned for his ‘architectural’ style and died in 2007.
The Ferre jewellery collection will be launched in the month of September at the Spring/Summer 2010 womenswear fashion show. It will be sold in Ferre stores worldwide as well as Rocca stores, which are owned by Damiani.
