Despite the downturn in the global economy, a recent antique jewellery and watch show in Las Vegas attracted a record-breaking turnout during its five days of exhibitions.
The 14th annual Las Vegas Antique Jewellery and Watch Show brought together more than 300 American and internationally-recognised dealers in vintage watches, including rare and antique timepieces . All exhibitors reported favourable conditions at the expo and the second day's figures showed the highest-ever attendance for the event for any one day.
Andrea Canady, the fair director, said that watches were still showing strong sales under the event's banner and could have an even stronger future. She added: "We are extremely pleased that this year's showing continues to solidify the Las Vegas Antique Jewellery and Watch Show as the ultimate place for exhibitors to obtain the most coveted and finest pieces in jewellery, watches and gemstones ."
The show took place in the world-famous MGM Grand, which was the main location for blockbuster movie Ocean's Eleven.
