Theo Fennell has returned to the jewellery business that bears his name and has pledged to bring back the creative flair that once saw its designs being worn by celebrities such as David Beckham and Elton John .
Mr Fennell said: "What we will be concentrating on is what we've always concentrated on, which is originality, craftsmanship, and going that extra mile to put the detail into the piece that makes it something very personal and unique."
Fennell was dubbed the "King of Bling" by some newspapers and his flamboyant designs, from skull rings and diamond -studded crucifixes to solid silver Marmite lids and 18 carat gold nappy pins, were associated with the conspicuous consumption of the late 1990s.
He parted company with Theo Fennell Plc in February 2008 and said a subsequent slide in sales and profits was due more to it losing a design-led focus than to the recession .
