Twelve British-based artists will be displaying their jewellery artwork at London's Goldsmiths' Hall.
The exhibition, called 'Creation II - an insight into the mind of the modern artist-jeweller' is to be displayed at the venue from May 29th until July 11th. Among the pieces that will be on show is the work of Catherine Martin, who uses gold strands and beads made from the precious metal to produce jewellery influenced by the Japanese kumihimo braiding method and her training as a classical musician.
Mary La Trobe-Bateman, curator of the free exhibition, explained that the pieces on show demonstrate the "diversity" of the field. She said: "It celebrates the experience and influence of key teachers as well as the younger jewellers who have also found an individual voice in their work."
Also in London, the Wallace Collection is exhibiting a number of gold items dating back to medieval times in its 'Treasures of the Black Death' exhibition.
