Italian jewellery designer, Roberto Coin, created a unique piece for the Middle East China Diamond and Jewellery Summit recently held in Dubai .
The piece was designed specially for the occasion and represents Palm Jumeirah, the man-made date palm tree shaped island located off the Jumeirah coast of Dubai, in black wood with rubies and colourless diamonds set on white gold .
Mr Coin presented the piece during the event organised by the Diamond Division of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC). Lauding the efforts of Mr Coin, Ahmed bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman DMCC, conferred on him the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Roberto Coin has been an icon in the jewellery industry for more than 25 years. His signature jewels are available in over 1000 stores worldwide including fine jewellery and specialty stores and can be seen worn on celebrities as Christy Turlington, Salma Hayek, Brooke Shields, Alicia Keys and Jodie Foster .
