Old pistons from the Prince's prized DB6 Volante are going to be used to make cufflinks in order to raise money for charity .
Six pistons that came from the car's engine when it was being converted to run on biofuel are being melted down to produce 200 pairs of cufflinks and each pair will be finished with 18ct gold . Profits from sales of the cufflinks will go to the youth charity, The Prince's Trust.
The work will be carried out by TMB ArtMetal, a London firm that specialises in creating specialist jewellery and works of art manufactured from the parts of famous cars, trains and aeroplanes.
Martina Milburn, chief executive of The Prince's Trust, said: "With these proceeds, we will be able to help more young people into jobs across the UK. Young people have been hit hardest in the recession, so it's now more important than ever to give them the skills and confidence they need to find work."
