Earrings

The humble earring have been adorning people's ears for thousands of years and ear piercing is one of the oldest forms of body decoration.

Ear piercing is when the lobe of the ear is pierced, however, other parts of the ear are also pierced and are known as cartilage piercings.

History shows how jewellery and earrings were worn throughout different civilisations and often had a cultural and religious significance. Earrings and jewellery can also denote status.

Earrings can be made from a variety of materials including, but are not limited to beads, bone, glass, metal, plastic, precious stone, and wood. There are a multitude of designs ranging from small hoops and studs to dangling and cluster earrings, and much more.
