Bulova

Bulova watches is a brand that was established in 1875 by Joseph Bulova in the USA. It is now owned by Citizen Watch. Co, which is based in Japan.

The company started out as a watch manufacturer and component maker and in 1919 they launched their first line of jewelled watches for men.

With the success of this line of watches, the company did something that would revolutionise the watchmaking and servicing industry by standardising many of the component parts. This meant that parts would be interchangeable between different watches.

Their success continued in the 1920s and 30s and in 1952 Bulova introduced the world's first electronic watch. Innovation being at the heart of the company, Bulova also developed created watches that were water-resistant.

Bulova

The 1970s saw a penchant for cheaper watches and Bulova created their own line of inexpensive watches. By 2008 manufacturing had moved from the USA and Switzerland to the Far East and all innovations had stopped. By this time the company was now known as a cheap watch brand. However, 2008 also saw the company being bought by Citizen.

The Bulova watch brand is still going strong and is well-known outside of the USA. They are an affordable brand that produce quality and accurate timepieces.
